Just a pic of some of my favourite coins which included the original birds of canada series from 1995. Wish the mint issued more coins series like the fifty cent coins from 1995-2000. In my opinion, these are some of the best designs they ever produced. Kudos to Dora de Pedery-Hunt.

Notice you don't show the 1999 Cats set. Only one I'm missing because it seems to be pricier than the others.

My cats are still in the packaging unopened. I feel your pain though. I just got the cats last year for $25 each shipped. I waited quite awhile to find them on ebay at that price.

CC-Ottawa: is that an album or box in the photo? I have to use a tray to store them and RCM changed packaging during series. the first 4 coins doesn't even have capsules. really nice coins, and since then RCM put their effect to color, glass and other fancy stuff

This is a series that I don't have. I haven't seen it in person either. CC and Silverbug,,,, nice displays.

It's a kind of like a book. Blue vinyl cover about 3/4 of an inch thick.
I actually got them presented like that from the shopping channel (Cdn Coin & Currency) over 10 years ago. Something similiar would be perfect for the 20 for 20s.

@silverbug, looks like you have an empty slot waiting for a wolf.

Outstanding series...so beautiful.
Passed over them since they are Sterling and not .999 , but always wanted them, specially the cats.
SilverBug and CC-Ottawa, thanks for sharing

I have all 24 of this series plus the 12 in the Canadian Sports Firsts and have duplicates of some of them. These coins are certainly attainable for collectors. Mintages were high back then and most can still be found near or below issue. But being sterling, they do attact tax if purchased from dealers. I just always forget how nice they are and the bald eagle (coin 21) should pair nicely with the 2013 gold 50 cent bald eagle too. Perfect description poboxw - hidden gems.
