This week, I have found 2 Buffalo nickels. One 1936 and the other date unknown. I also found 8 silver halves, dated 1965 through 1968 as well as a nice bicentennial half. I'm pretty pleased with myself. *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

I was able to find an unopened U.S. Mint wrapped roll of 2000-D Sacawagea Golden Dollars at my local bank. Teller said someone had just turned it in for cash. Probably not worth much over face, but I think someone paid a premium for it from the mint. Not sure whether to open it or leave it as is.

If you happen to open that roll, I'd be willing to trade for a nice cherry picked GEM for my set!

I picked up $55 worth of nickels and dimes in the last week on three separate trips. The first (just two rolls of dimes) turned up a 1944 Merc (my second ever Merc). The second trip (5 rolls of nickels and 3 dimes) didn't turn up much, but the best was a 1939 D Jefferson. TODAY, I found an 1899 Liberty nickel in the first roll I opened. VERY excited. Even my wife was impressed!

youngen19, Nice finds. I have been looking for a 1939-D Jefferson in rolls for years and have never found one. Surprised you have not found any of the silver War Nickels 1942-1945. Most have been pulled for silver, but I find one occasionally.

Scratch that. It is a 1939-P. Not as desirable, but I'll still take it!

Well, my favorite teller came through again. This time 2 more US Mint wrapped Sacawagea rolls- one 2000-P and one 2000-D. Guess someone gave up on their being valuable some day.

Just checked another $1k in boxes of halves. No silver again. I think everyone else is getting my silver!
