I have found ONE only, on the opposite side of Australia, about 3 weeks ago.
It seems to me that commemorative coins are issued as soon as they are produced, definitive coins are issued from older stock in response to demand. That older stock may have built up and could delay the release of current year definitive coins, sometimes by more that a full year.
What does everybody think of this design?

I think it's nice enough. It certainly gets the point across.

Dang thought I might have been one of the first few to have one. I blame my lack of knowledge on being a foreigner lol

I am pretty sure that erkle was referring to the 20 cent coin. The holey dollar coin is an NCLT coin and not a circulation coin like the Canberra 20 cents or the 2012 poppy coin.

Unless you KNOW it is a map of Canberra, it would make NO sense. Well done on the early pick up of this coin Sel I wonder if in 2027 they bring out another "Canberra" florin with a Great design on it

When I first say the coin pictured it didnt do anything for me. Seeing it in hand it has grown on me.

it looks a bit like the Federation type 20 cent designs to me. The holey dollar coin however is by far my favorite design coin this year. The small portrait of the Queen and the re-introduction of denticals really separates this from all the other offerings so far

. must be one of them coins swapped at a sporting event in Canberra. Good effort getting one in Sydney Mate I cheated and got some from eBay That way they are Unc or better and I can put the coin straight in my album without having to upgrade at a later date

I like both coins but there is no doubt "Denticles" add an almost historic allure to a coin.!!
