That is cool, thanks for sharing. What sort of metal is it struck on?

Quote: I did it yesterday... Do they have one in Winnipeg? No Winnipeg. Only Vancouver and Ottawa this year. By the way, it is the last day to strike your snake medallion today at the Ottawa Boutique.

My wife and I visited the mint, on tour in Ottawa, fondled the $750,000 28 pounds (guard said pounds) of Gold and had a medallion struck yesterday....our medallions had weak strikes thus the dies must have been showing some wear.
Yours is quite distinct all around the snake...ours had a very light strike on the tail of the snake. Still in all a nice surprise that we weren't expecting. One gent purchased over 8K of merchandise and got a free T shirt and a free 2013 Oh Canada set.

We went today, and after some smooth talking and charm with the operator, and her getting approval from a supervisor - we got our way with the press. First pic, we got a blank planchet, for my friend's planchet collection. Next, an off-centre strike (which seems to be the normal anyway). Then, we reloaded a previously struck token. So, we now have a flip-strike, double struck token. Have fun figuring out which design was struck first. This last one, was the most fun - we should have double struck more...

Well, I was hoping there's a Winnipeg one. I've traded one of my Ottawa with another user in another forum for theirs Vancouver one.

I thought there might be some in Winnipeg as well, but it makes sense that there isn't. It's a marketing strategy to cater towards chinese-canadians, I don't think there are that many in Winnipeg. Would make sense to have some in Toronto though. I've got my Ottawa tokens, I'm interested in trading for a Vancouver one as well. Anyone knows if there were such tokens in Ottawa last year (dragon)?
