People may have different opinions but I collect:
1938-1959 proofs 2009 (low mintage)
I have a Dansco with the nicest versions of each one. I then have a Whitman Folder I am trying to fill from hunting alone (about 7 holes, mostly silver) then I keep a couple of each in plastic roll holders. The rest I throw in a ziplock bag and they are for sale to anyone at $.10 each.
Good luck!

I went through a number of rolls and only found a 1958. And funny how there was no 2009 nickels. Thanks for your response.

I'm collecting all years. But I like to have them in "good" grades.

The 2009 P and D's are out there, you just have to go through a bunch of boxes to find them. People hoard them due to the low mintage numbers. I'm doing Littleton folders from roll hunting boxes. I have some nice specimens but I have a few yet to find.

.....oh by the way, the folders are a pain, the nickels keep wanting to fall out. I won't do that again.

John, If you check ebay out you can get cheap proofs for around 2 or 3 dollars. I picked a few of them up. I got a 2005 ocean view Proof-69 for 11 dollars. I got the 2005 buffalo for like $3.50. My older brother sold me his old nickels, I have a roll of them that go's from: 1938 to 1964. All different dates though.

Quote: All of them. LOL, you beat me to it. That's exactly what I was going to say. John, I have two sets of Jefferson albums. One is entirely uncirculated coins, as nice as I can find and can afford. The second (actually Littleton folders, there are three volumes) is circulation finds and, although it has take a bit of time, I'm doing pretty well. I even have most of the war time silvers. The circulated finds are as much, if no more fun, than the "nice" ones. Either way you'll enjoy it. So, long story short... Collect all of them!
