No problem Stud (heh...felt weird saying that). And thanks for all the congrats!
I didn't think of that, but everyone can share their map spreads!
It doesn't look like you have much anywhere else to go though, Wade. Although being in Canada, it seems odd you collect no Canadian coins?
And Swamper, I try collecting circulating coins, but some countries just stop existing, or change, so quite a few have fallen through the cracks...For example, I have coins from Yugoslavia. I also have some coins of countries that changed, but remained the same, sort of, like coins of British India.

Spent hours yesterday putting in some of my coins. I was able to put in one of my albums. Alphabetically, countries starting with I-Z. Total, I put in 873 coins from 137 different countries. That is the good part. Bad part is that I have 2 more albums of similar size to put in. This may take a while... Once it is done, it will be really nice to have though.

Awesome! Congrats on 100, and 105! I'm working on a similar type set, 1 coin of every country that has existed since 1900, circulating coins, to start. Its tough, Africa seems to be the tough spot for everyone due to not many tourists bringing back mementos.
I dont even know what I'm up to anymore, just what I need.
Message me with countries you are looking for, I have alot sitting as extras, maybe we can help eachother out

I have 811 different types from 157 countries. I think I only have one 'cheater' country with Hutt River Province. Still trying to fill a few in. There are some that are going to be expensive.

Been working on album number 2 today. Got about 7/8 of the way through it. As of now, I have entered 1654 coins. 1235 different coins from 225 different countries. I tried to copy my map to post but I am not sure how.

Just press the Print Screen button on your keyboard, and then paste it to paint or something, and save it. That is how I did it. Also....225 different countries ...that's more than exist now! I'd be curious to see what on earth you could be missing.

1654 coins from 22 different countries. Like I was saying before. I still have a whole album to go through, just have not had the time yet. It took some doing just to get that many coins logged in 2 days.

Congrats at breaking 100! I haven't counted up how many coin issuing entities that I have in quite a while. Quote: 225 different countries ...that's more than exist now! I'd be curious to see what on earth you could be missing. Like Swamperbob said, the "number of countries" really depends on your criteria. If you added up the French provincial coinage between the 10th and 15th century you would probably get over 200. The same thing could probably be done with the various German States, provinces, cities and towns that minted coins independently. I've seen one list that included well over 1000 entities.

I would say that 99% of my collection is from 1890-2013. But the older you go, the more you are able to come across

When I tried to count the countries in my collection, I came up with an 130-ish figure. However, that included a lot of "countries" that some would consider just historical varieties on the same one (e.g. Grand Principality of Moscow, Tsardom of Russia, Russian Empire, RSFSR, USSR and Russian Federation were all separate on my list... and then there's Tver, and I still don't know how to count Siberia if/when I eventually acquire any of their coins).
Okay, Russia might be correct here - but what about France and Germany? And IIRC even the UK was named differently in 1699, 1797, 1807, 1899, and 1971 (all years taken from coins in my collection - and then there's the Scottish shilling from the 1950s to further complicate things up).
Oh, and I'm surprised how many of you are missing Mongolia... is it really so hard to get their coins? I always thought it was among the easier countries to get a coin from (I have something like ten of these now, and I didn't even have to search much). Now Belarus, that's a hard one (I'm still searching for an affordable example).

Mongolian coins are difficult to come by in my area. I've never seen one. I'll probably have to buy some.
