Here's a 1937 Australian Crown. I kind of suspect it's been cleaned, especially the reverse. Opinions?

I'm inclined to agree with you. Get some pics in sunlight, late afternoon when the sun's at an angle, and the story will tell itself. Angled sunlight is merciless on hairlines.

aEF obverse, EF reverse, rather like my example in that regard. I'm no expert, but it seems difficult to find a very nice obverse with these Crowns. I'm still looking for a suitable 1938 that I can still afford.

I'd say aEF/VF. The OBV looks better with the top of the ear still there and still a lot of detail in the hair so I'd say aEF. The rev looks like someone has been rubbing at the fields. The cross on orb on the crown is nearly gone and the other high points on the crown are well worn. I'd say VF for the rev.
