The Canadian 1 cent coin was eliminated in early February 2013. While the government's choice was probably wise in some senses, they might not have considered the enormous inflation that they have caused. 500% is no joke...

Inflation? What inflation? It's the penny. I didn't want to see the penny go, because I like pennies, but it's not going to cause any inflation. By the time they're actually gone, no one will remember why they were there in the first place.
