I know there are a few of us who buy and sell US 90% and bullion regularly...(Hawk, TBK, BarryG etc)

Anyone on the forum deals in 80% Canadian silver?

swrbxxx,

Thank you for responding. Now that you mention it, I think I have seen you mention dealing in 80% in the past. I'll send you a PM here in a minute.

Interestingly enough, in the province I live, I would get taxed if I bought 80% coinage at a authorized RCM dealer (7% PST). It's actually cheaper to get 999 bars/rounds.

I saw your ccf listing, and I would love to buy all the silver I could, but unfortunately my parents don't allow me to buy or trade via the forum

@harrison2, I believe there are only 2 provinces in Canada that do that.

I really wanted some 80% as well as peace/morgans, since they are hard to find up here. But the guy at the counter said he would have to charge 7% sales tax, as they would get charged for it as well. really dumbfounding if you ask me. They get a bunch of really nice stuff people bring in.. spoons, bowls, US coinage, and all of it gets melted since its more profitable for them.

Mind you this only applies to authroized dealers. But they usually have the best prices for maples/bars.

I love 80%-90% silver period
I avoided this tax problem by buying from small town coin and stamp shows and ebay...believe it or not. Bought from sellers living in the same city, met them up and purchased more privately. If you're not a merchant, ebay or not, there's no obligation to collect taxes for your loving gov. In the last 5 years, I got really lucky and acquired mint state, uncirculated Us and Canadian coins from the 10 cents to the dollar/ But I also got "junk" silver.Love it all.
Keep stacking

there are many coin shops that will sell you 80% coins without tax, just be sure to tell them you plan to pay in cash.. Not debit or credit card, most will give you a break. I have been buying silver coins for 10 years, and have never paid tax..keep looking you will find it for sale without taxs..
