Hello everyone, I am new to this site and am wondering if someone can give me an idea of what this coin is worth. I appreciate your help.

Look like a high AU, but some of the wear I see may be because of the pics. The color doesn't look natural either, especially given the pits on the obverse, but again it may be because of the pics.

To my eyes, it has EF45 details. Lack of cartwheel/luster and darker toning between the feathers suggest to me the coin was whizzed and retoned.

It still has good bones left but it doesn't look natural. I imagine your lighting doesn't help either.

I am not a photographer either lol. I have a few other pics I can try to upload to give you a better idea. Any guess on the value?

It really depends if it has original surfaces or not, as I said before, it doesn't look like it to me, so assuming Au50 - ish grade, maybe $5. The problem is that you can get an original EF coin for about $5-8 dollars too.

I really think $5 would be the max I'd pay.

I'd hang on to it if I were you. That's a nice looking Indian Head.

I agree, I have sold several original XFs for $5-$8 and that is what I got. I got $10 for a high AU with some surface issues, the amount I started the bidding at. It is below. I don't think cleaned and re-toned would get that amount though but it is difficult to gauge what people will pay for coins with issues.

You're not a photographer but that's a beauty of a picture. Very nice IH. How did you take the photo?

I took it to my sisters and she took the pic. It looks different in person perhaps the lighting was bad. just looking at it with the naked eye it looks red and very slight tarnishing to the left of the face. Also I noticed under the 9 there is a small irregular and in the last 8 there is what appears to be a double. The research I have done on it they call that a SNOW? I have no idea what that means. I will try to take a few more pics to get a better idea of what it actually looks like. Again thank all of you for your responses.

Snow as in Snow variety - Attributions credited to Rick Snow, the discoverer. http://www.fly-inclub.org/LL20-1%20...registry.pdfI cannot completely say for sure, based on your pictures, if the surfaces are original or not. They seem very lack luster which could mean the coin is impaired.

I am taking is to a coin shop on monday to see if it had ever been cleaned or not. Like I said the color and shine in the picture are not like what it actually looks like. I'm thinking just bad lighting.

Based on the picture I would definitely say cleaned. It will be interesting to see if that opinion is due to "bad" lighting/photography. Especially since the pic looks good, nice and crisp. Keep us posted.
