Put through $2000 of dollar coins, $400 of 50 cent coins and $200 of 20 cents in today's session, and found a few interesting coins, but none of the Big Ones (1966 20c wavy, 2001 rotated platy 20c, 2010 rotated 50c, 2000 $1 mule)

Three NCLT dollar coins: Oz Post, Florey C m/m, Citizenship C m/m, plus a S m/m Parkes

50 cent coins gave up a 1992 MSO and a nice 1991 RAM

Another great effort, penny dreadful
Thanks for sharing the statistics of your findings.
I think the NCLT dollar coins are a nice "catch"

A very interesting thread to a newbie!

Next Friday I get off the "Rock" and head for the mainland for my usual fortnight visits and shop for the fruit & vegies which is my part of our families food collecting chores.

But this will be my 1st time at collecting coins for noodling.

I have picked out 3 smaller less used banks in the area that I will be in and hopefully will find a friendly teller when it comes to coin collecting.

The bigger banks could be a problem with ques and getting to the same teller to start a relationship for noodling needs.

I thought about going to the huge gaming club but thought that the coins were all probably bashed to pieces.

Best of luck, kg5

When you think of it, we noodlers can only look at a tiny fraction of the potential coins out there; even doing 5000 coins a week is but a drop in the ocean of coins!!

Do make sure you have a list of all the potential goodies you may get in the denominations you are going to go through - mintmarks, NCLT's, Mint Set only, low mintage, upsets, striking errors and the like. Another thing I make sure I do is to hear the ring a cupro nickel coin makes; if you get a silver coin that has a lamination flaw it'll sound like it is made of lead....

Look forward to seeing some pics of your finds!!
