I've noticed quite a few new folks have joined our message board in the last few weeks. I'm curious what turned you on to coin roll hunting?

Welcome aboard!

You'd probably get a lot more responses if your title had a meaning to it besides "I have a question". With so much activity out here, people usually only look at the posts that interest them.

Just trying to help!

I got into crh after finding a sterling silver coffee pot set at a garage sale. I googled finding silver and stumbled upon this site.

And by the way, I spent Thanksgiving vacation in Owasso,OK. I have family that moved there...nice little city.

Hey Kurrykid, I considered it but when I wrote it out, it didn't sound as interesting as my current title. I feel more people will open the thread based off the current title rather than trying to include the question in a very long title. However, you have a valid and reasonable opinion. If I don't get a decent response, I'll change it up in a couple days. Thanks for the advice

CHingObsession. Welcome! You'd think I really love this town since I included it in my username, however, it was the first thing that came to mind when trying to come up with something unique AND memorable(for me).

Owasso is a nice suburb although I think I'm more comfortable in a small town or in the country. But we have a great school system and my daughter is very active in gym and sport. My kids come first and I think this is a good town to raise a family.

I have always saved my spare change I got throughout the day and seperated them into their own jars when I got home. Once the jars were full I would cash them in, except for the cents I have not cashed in any in years. So one day I found a wheat in my change and thought that's neat and decided to look through all my cents. I had found about 60 wheats and some canadan coins.

After going through all of my change I had a taste for going through cents so one day I went to my bank and asked for $10 of cents. Shortly after that I looked on-line for more info about error cents and found a couple forums on CRH. I was reading as much as I can could on these forums and was learning a lot. Then one day at work I had found a War Nickel and got real excited because I knew it was silver. Then the real hunt was on...

Now-a-days I don't go through many cents but at least once a week get nickels and much more recently some dimes. Just building my way to those halves.

I was talking to a friend at work who is a collector and it got me thinking about a Great Britain penny collection that was passed down to me. Soooo, then I started looking at US coins. I've found a few keepers in change I had saved around the house but have been skunked thus far CRHing.

I had done halves on a pretty decent scale back 2 years ago then had my second kid coincide with when everyone else caught on that silver was everywhere in the banks. My returns diminished about 1.5 years ago and so did my time. I was kind of out of hunting. Then I found a 19s wheat and got started again. Forget how I stumbled on the board. It's amazing that some people are doing so much in halves. This board is great. Gotta go dump some coin
