Yes, maybe in a year or two we'll see some benefit when the Mint rolls out their changes.

I wonder if it's a new position or a replacement for someone who left/is leaving?

Who knows, but it probably wouldn't hurt them to have one more.

Will make things worse. My logic is this. They are looking for a temp contract, 12 months. They are looking to hire a specialized person. This position should pay $75,000. I am betting the salary will be much lower based on the qualification requirements. No body is going to leave their job to go work here for one year with no guarantee of future employment. So they are going to hire the best person for the least money. This usually result in the wrong person for the job. I think this will not result in any improvement.

Also any new hire would have to change corporate culture to make any real change. There is a saying in corporate culture that if you want to change the direction of the ship you have to change the captain and first officers. The guy working on the boilers will have no effect in the ships direction.

They need to fire the Senior Manager, E-Commerce and Direct Sales. He is beyond incompetent. If for one reason, they have never been able to figure out how to cancel orders online. There are many more reasons.

I have no problem with cancelling orders online from the Mint. I have done it about 7-10 times...and I have no problem with it...cuz the order never go through and the credit card was never charged.

Do you know their procedure for canceling orders. When you cancel an order online it creates a document that gets printed out. The cancel request is then processed by hand in another room. If there are to many cancel requests or not enough people to process them they just get ignored. Even the mint staff will tell you to cancel orders by phone. I'm suppries they don't use vacuum tubes in this process.

I can't say that I am that surprised that the Mint does it by hand.... in so many ways the Mint is a bit behind the times
