Not actual State Quarters but coins the size of half dollars with one for each state. Souped-up State Quarters approximately 1/2 ounce each and made by the Franklin Mint. There is about 23 troy ounces of pure silver. My buddy wants these. I think I'll trade for a tube of ASE's .

How does sterling silver compare to real (.999) silver?

Thanks Denco...you don't really hear of people collecting sterling too much (at least I don't). Is it not as desirable for some reason? It seems .925 is a pretty good amount of silver.

Thanks.

Sterling is a lot more durable that pure silver, the added alloys make it good for silverware and serving plates. That is also why many sterling coins contain an ounce of silver but weigh inexcess of an ounce to get to that silver content level.

Early Pandas were sterling as well as early year Libertads. Britannias were .958 up until this year when they switchedto .999
