Ya it pretty much blew my mind when I started opening them up! Quote: wow ..that would have been nearly impossible to find in the last 20 years...luck was certainly with you, and you got an extra 16 dimes as well? They were all in the clear plastic rolls which are supposed to fit exactly 50 dimes. I am guessing that the older dimes were either fractionally thinner or had become so through 50+ years of wear; so the rolls tended to have 51 or 52 dimes each. So now that I've pulled out ones I was missing in my collection, I just have to decide whether to sell the rest now or add them to my rather small silver stash. Cheers!

Congrats on what is most likely the find of a lifetime! When I think about the (I don't even want to think how many) skunk boxes I've gone through, what you found blows my mind.
This story is probably the strongest testimony about the desirability of CWRs that I've ever heard.

Yup, I landed $200+ in silver from a solid 64 kennedy roll, CWR. CWRs are the way to go, this is why! I do both, I just prefer CWR.
And I suggest holding on to the silver, silver is in a slump as of late. Besides, if you hold on to it, you will always have it when you need it!

hard to believe no one saw they were silver coins in the clear wrappers. I was sure they would have been paper wrapped.

The silver ones do have a different colour than the plated or the nickel ones that can be seen through a clear wrapper.
