Can you determine if its genuine? Someone mentioned that they had some doubts.

The obverse of yours did make me wonder.

Did you buy it from a reputable seller or?

I am not an expert on greek coins either. I appears to me that if genuine, it has been tooled.

The drill marks on the reverse lettering look off. Look at the "B" at the top, then compare to the other photo. Also the pi to the right of the eagle, and Y in Ptolemy. Just seems off to me. During die prodiction the engravers would drill holes at the start and stop of the lines comprising the letters. The engravers would then "connect the dots" to form the letters, leaving dots behind at the start, stop and intersections of the lines forming the letter. Counterfeiters usually mess this up some how.

Nannie. Glad to see you are getting some of your coins over here to the ancients section of CCF:) I am on the fence with authenticty. The fabric of the coin looks generally OK to me.

I do have better hopes for the the others you posted in the world coins section:)

I see no signs of tooling. These types are remarkably crude in their style. I cannot condemn the coin from the images alone but based on the images I cannot say that it is genuine either.

Hi There.I am not an expert too but with this correct form and rounded on the edge, with no dent cracks or chip,it is doubtful.
Best Regards
