In my recently inherited collection, I came across a large amount of State Quarters (very new to the Coin World). I've separated the State Quarters into two main piles. 1. Uncirculated rolls and individual coins. 2. Circulated State Quarters. Questions: 1. The State Quarters that have been circulated are in great condition. Is it worth trying to sell these coins? I came across two large bins of them. I was going to go through the coins and look for any errors and then cash them into the bank. 2. Is there any other information I should know before attempting to cash them into the bank? Thank you for all the help!

we are not at the point when circulated State Quarters have an aftermarket price above face value. this was a popular series in its day and hoarded by the hundreds of thousands- even millions of coins. my advice is that it's ok to part with the circulated coins- maybe use the proceeds to buy a couple reference books and figure out what types of coins you wish to pursue.

I would fill up an album and set the others free.

Yes fill up an album or two...definitely would get some books on coins that interest you. Keep the uncirculated rolls to sell later or even now for people looking for them.

Very good advice posted above, not much I can add to it.

I agree with what was stated above. Build a folder or two with them, and set the circulated ones free. They will not have a value above face for a long, long time.

If they're there keep the 2009 issues though (us territories) they had a relatively low mintage and are worth more than the rest of the series.

I built my first folder of 50 State coins today. It's a very satisfying experience to have a full set. I agree with everyone else about creating a couple of folders and then get rid of the rest.

I wouldn't pay more than a nickel for a State Quarter, there's just to many of them.
