I know how I feel when someone posts about finding a nice coin then doesn't post a picture.I'm ashamed I cant sent pictures in this day and age but living way out in the mountains we have slow dial-up.Anyway I was looking through rolls of nickles today and had to do a double-take ,found a 1939 which is no big deal with over 120 million minted. It was the condition of it,I looked in PCGS Photograde online and this coin is equal or better than the one they graded MS68.Every detail perfect, full steps, looks like it was just minted ,I can't even imagine where this coins been for 73 years.

Believe me, I'll wait on the dial-up. There's a story behind every goody!
Rest in Peace

I'd be bouncing off the walls! I'd be doing the happy dance just for finding something with that date.

It must have been in a collection or kept in a drawer (which is where I kept my 'collection' for the forty years before I got 'serious' about this hobby).

Enjoy! And I am happy the coin has a good home.

Great find! We would love to see a photo. Hope you can figure out some way to give us one. I found a few 1939's in circulation but nothing that looked as good as you describe.

From your description of full steps, I would assume you have a reverse of 1940 Nickel...

That's an awesome find! Congratulations!

I've experienced a similar find. I got a hand full of change, and among the coins in my palm was a nice shiny penny. I figured it was probably from the 80's or 90's, but when I looked at it, to my amazement, it was a 1909!

After reading so many cool CRH posts on here, I really think I need to try my hand at it a little bit more. I haven't really hunted since the late 80's.

Thanks, its always great when you find a nice coin like this one ,just the week before I drove 40 miles to a coin shop to buy a 1939D that I needed to finish a album and that coin was actually a piece of junk ,VG8 or maybe F-12.but if you need it ,you buy it.
