Certainly not acoin. A medallion in commemoration of Britian being triumphant in WWII? Can't offer more than that.

It is a British WW2 General Service Medal for the people who served in the WW2, I have one of those and been told by a militaria guy that this is one of the most common ones as nearly everyone who served got this one and not just soldiers but also other people were given that one (if theyu served for at least a week or 2 weeks or something short), I think it does not even have a name and unit etc engraved on the rim...also I think it is copper nickel...

these were awareded to all who served in the Armed Forces of the British Empire in WW2.
Medals to British were not inscribed with the recipient' name.
Australians received medals with their names inscribed.
I don't know about other countries.
Canadian medals were made of silver. All others were CuNi.
The medal was intended to be worn, on a riband.
You can see in the pics, the bits that remain of the rivet that fastened the suspender to the medal.

Its not silver - its Cupronickel. Its value is more from its history but these things are pretty abundant so It wont get you loads. Check eBays finished listings.
