I'm currently working on a time machine in my garage. Anybody want me to pick up something for them from 1972?

If I give you $10,000, will you pick up everything you can for me?

nice...just imagine, some easy sets now might be costly in the future. although...with billions of coins minted all the time, not sure if that'll ever be the case again except for errors.

OK, that settles it. I'll need a bigger gas tank but I'm taking my time machine back to 1963! Maybe I can drive back in a brand new (1963) Corvette!

I actually was visiting coin shops and shows with dad back in the late 50's and early 60's. Those prices seem like a bargain today, but that was moon money then. I used to see double-eagles in Unc (non-keys) listed for $40. I could have picked up a 1916-D Merc in Fine for about $100. The 1909-S vdb cent was available for $50 in VF. If I wanted a Unc 1916 SLQ it was around $300 and the venerable 1893-S Morgan was $500 in Unc. And the list could go on and on. My .25 cent-a-week allowance didn't go very far.

I added up the prices from the UNC column and came up with 779.75. Last year I bought a complete DANSCO set for this series and I only paid 600 dollars. All the coins are AU or better, most being better. Sometimes the bargains are found in this century without wasting 1.21 Gigawatts.
