1945 S - Mercury Dime Question

Hello everyone, I just joined up and this is my first post, so please bear with me. Please feel free to chime in with any suggestions, if I appear to be lost at any time. Thank you for the opportunity to join this forum. That said, I have a 1945 s Mercury dime and I am curious if this is what you call the micro s ? Also, does the mintmark look like it seperated or something, for it has the appearance of a second mintmark underneath. Yet that small sliver to the right looks like it seperated from the mark and it moved from its original position. Thank you for any help on this.

Yes, that is a micro S. The larger S is the 'ball serif' style; see comparison pictures here: http://www.pcgscoinfacts.com/Coin/Detail/5062

As for the possible RPM, I'm not sure, but it looks like Machine Doubling. I don't see a '45-S RPM listed for the micro S mint mark. http://varietyvista.com/Variety%20M....htm#_1945-S

Sure does look like the Micro S. One thing if to find yourself a lot more 45S's and compare.
