As a gift I have received the 2007 One Dollar Silver Australian Koala Coin. I have been told this is the first year of issue.
If answers to the following questions could be posted I would be most appreciative.
1. Is this the first year of issue for the coin? 2. Are there plans for how long (years) the series will run. 3. Is there a case or album available for the coins? 4. Although I am not an investor, would these coins be a good investment?
1) Yes 2) There are plans for more....from what I can gather it will be a yearly issue 3) Not at this stage....first year of issue so nobady has thought that far 4) At worst they will sell under bullion conditions. They are priced similar to kookaburras which are the Perth Mints bullion coin. Depends on how mintages turn out. They have sold well so far.
We have two Koala's residing here in our home now and all I can say is keep them coming Australia!!! They fit rather well with my Kangaroo's and Mob of Roos and the idea of yearly designs make them more than appealling!
