Just noticed this on ebay and it comes to prove that everyone really is just paying for the wrapper! With no bids on this broken roll.....

the sticker still looks good...maybe one could get it off nice and put it on a regular roll of pennies...

lol solidifier, the price is on the sticker, not the actual coins. As discussed in other forums who knows which are the true last 1M pennies

The starting bid is about $11.50 more than what I would want to pay for that roll.

I would grade the wrapper as 'Poor, details'.
For the coins, I would pay face value, the seller would have to pay for the shipping!

I felt really bad for the person that dropped this roll.
Can you imagine if it had happened to one of our members here!

Now imagine the roll being dropped is the 20,000/20,000

If we all know the 20,000/20,000 penny roll was dropped (meaning the wrapper is damaged), would that make the 19,000/20,000 penny roll the next best thing? And wouldn't all the rolls theoretically go up in value as well?

I think you mean 19,999. And no it wouldn't be as valuable because someone's got to believe you when you say #20,000 was damaged. It has a little more value than a regular serial number, but not alot.

Knowing how easily the hologram sticker would peel, it would not be hard to peel it off and apply it on a different roll. Yup, people are really just paying for a hologram sticker.

Peel the sticker and use it to repair the ripped wrapper. Then call it a misaligned COA sticker error

Or put it on a regular roll and claim it got out of the mint by mistake. Just some wild idea.

Oops! I meant number 19999. If the person showed number 20000 on youtube as damaged, why can't number 19999 be the next best thing imo.
