I usually pass on these deals but there was one tiny one that looked so comical that I went for it. I did a quick search around but quickly decided that maybe I should ask for ideas first. I have a late roman minim (probably not barbarous and some really rare guy but no identifiable anythings on it) that I put in a 30mm 2x2 so I wouldnt lose it. The darn things are teensy. bobbyhelmet Pillar of the Community United Kingdom 2838 Posts	Posted 03/02/2013 8:28 pm Interesting bunch - The second two are indeed barbarous radiates, the first is also barbarous but is a left facing laureate, I think, often hard to tell with these! Your 4th is Julian II with a FEL TEMP R-EPARATIO reverse break and DotMDot in left field. It was minted at Constantinople (CON is just about readable as the MM) but I cant see the workshop identifier. The obverse legend is DN CL IVLIANVS NOB CAES, its one of RIC 138-147. Same story. Because of their diminutive size, the types on them are almost unidentifiable. They were easily lost, and are therefore rare. Bronze coins would have been much more practical. I too could see NOB CAES (kinda sorta) which made me think Gallus. #1 looks like 'he' might be wearing a helmet. The face has surprising detail but the nose .... the nose looks like he needs a circumcision. I only picked them up because they were a cheap. 19 pieces for $38. The others are Constantine et al. 2 Tetricus 1 Byzantine two Greeks. Also noticed one Valentinian and I think an Arcadius maybe. I will take some more photos.
