Pretty sure this is FS-512 D/S. Nice lamination too!

I don't know much about laminations. Is the lamination defect present in the planchet before striking, or does the layer peel off after the coin is struck? In this case it looks like a thin lamination peeled and flipped up and THEN the coin was struck. Is that possible?

A lamination occurs when the metal is rolled and there are impurities in the metal which causes the metal to not meld together properly. The metal sometimes lifts after the blank is cut out of the sheet or after it is struck by the dies, sometimes it stays on the coin after striking and may or may not lift off even while in circulation.
