Hi, I was just wondering if this would be a valuable error or error at all?

Look closely at the "P". It seems to be filled in.

This is very common with the Washingtons. It seems like it's harder to get a clear mint mark in the 70's and 80's.

Alexb591..buy this book and this should answer most of your questions about errors on coins. I use it and highly recommend it: Strike It RICH WITH POCKET CHANGE....3rd edition.........Error Coins Bring Big Money.......by Ken Potter & Dr. Brian Allen.

It's just a die chip, no real value. Also as stated above, strike it rich with pocket change is an amazing book. Very simple to use and tons of great info for the error hunter.

I have this 1a89 quarter. I was wondering if it's worth anything? The 9 definitely has another "leg"

to both of you. Alexb591, no added value just a filled mintmark. mrrodriguez0605 start a new thread for your coin, it's not fair to the OP to be post hijacked.

A mark incuse on a coin is usually a coin scratch. There are some issues that a coin may have that this is not the case. But from the image provided, it looks like PSD on the second coin. (best to keep a thread to just one coin. Searching for a thread later is harder because the extra coins don't match the title of the thread)

I have this same coin and it was kicked out at my local credit union and not allowed to be counted. The rims on the front and back are twice as high as normal. Very nice looking coin.
