Two areas of my geekdom colliding: Paul Lukas, a blogger and columnist for ESPN on the subject of sports uniforms and logos, has done a piece for New Republic on coinsI'm posting the link before I read it myselfJust read it, it's short and to a point, and a touch political. The topic is nothing new for most readers here, and I would have loved some new suggestions. Always cool to see numismatics go mainstream though!

The story reads like an old Andy Rooney throw away from 60 minutes... no real substance to it. I'd be for updating the coin designs, but I think it makes sense to go back in time to when the coins started and make them non-political and let that ride for 25 years.

Quote: I'm posting the link before I read it myself Very, very dangerous. Quote: Just read it, it's short and to a point, and a touch political. It is okay. But, as a warning, let us avoid expanding on the political portion and keep this to a numismatic topic.

The two links posted take you to a number of different sites. Be forewarned as jBuck pointed out.

Wooops, I'll have to remember that if I want to link to a site on here. Or can I link to things with non-family friendly content so long as I include a warning?

Argentum,
I've been reading non-family-friendly stuff on the interwebs since I was 12 (and much of that stuff was labeled 18+ . . . . I was a bad kid). No warning ever stopped me and in fact it only made me more eager to see what was there. I'd say just don't post it.
