Today I was given some money for my birthday from my grandpa. I turned over one of the bills to read the serial number and to my surprise the number spelled out my home phone number. The bill (a $20) is nearly uncirculated too.

Cool. As a teen, I used to see bills with local phone numbers and think about calling them up and selling the note to them... for a premium, of course! Ha, never tried it though.

I found a cool serial number today too, it's not a phone number but it's neat looking. Too bad the 7 wasn't a 1 though...

Finding you own phone number is a 1 in 10 million shot (per letter group). Similar odds to having all the winning numbers for a 6/49 draw (1 in 14 million).

I once went UNC notes hunting with a Canadian paper money collector in the casinos and happen to check the serial number of my new UNC notes. To my surprise, the serial numbers matched my girlfriend's cell phone number at the time!
Then... As I was walking in the casino, I bumped into my girlfriends parents that same night! Now what is the possibilities of that! They probably thought I was some addicted gambler, but in fact just note hunting at the various cash out cages.
