I'm not an expert on this so I'm not sure if it's actually a coin or a token of some sort. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think it's a token from Thailand. The queen or one of the princesses. The script is possibly an ancient form of Thai which my (Thai) wife is unable to read.
The reverse pictures a pedestal (usually hand held), gifts or money donations are put on them to hand to the recipient, usually a monk or member of royalty.

The script is not Thai, but Khmer (Cambodia).
