Help Identifying This Large Medal, Possibly French

rabbitfootantiques New Member United States 2 Posts	Posted 03/12/2013 7:42 pm Hello: I recently purchased this large medal. I had it tested at the local jewelry store and it tested as 6-7 Karat gold. It measures approx. 4" long by 2 1/2" wide and weighs approx. 1 3/4 ounces. I cannot seem to find another medal like this so I was hoping someone on this forum may be able to help. I get the feeling it is from France or Liberia. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Jason Report this Post to the Staff

It does not look to me like it was made like a coin from a mint, based on the pictures. Why do you think it is from Liberia or France? Report this Post to the Staff

It does not appear to have been made all in one piece. The reason I believe it to be French or Liberian is because I have seen other order medals with the same star pattern on them from Liberia, which I believe was under French rule.
