100 more uncleaned coins (well, 99 but I'm not fussy) - these are the ones I'm offering over at the trade forum!

Firstly - no real pretty ones in there. I've taken out all the broken ones leaving only coins where I can see the bust. Lot of barbarous coins and a lot of radiates too! 60 up for grabs but I think id be better off cleaning them and offering them like that. I reckon ill take some of the nicer broken ones and put them as bonus coins.

I got one I couldnt see anything on and wiped it with a bit of distilled water and out came a nice VRBS ROMA. The dirt is lovely and loose.

Ive picked out 4 which I like the look of to clean properly - 3 from the culls pile. This leaves a pile of 35 culls which I can have fun cleaning up!

Heres pictures:

Some of the interesting ones. The priestly stuff I'm not so sure about - anyone know about that coin? I might offer it seperately - its in pretty good condition. But until then, its witht he rest (its not in the spirit to filter out the good stuff!)

This is the one I think is the best diamond in the rough:

NOTE: I cant keep my hands off these! A lot of really good coins in here. Great variety (well, theres a LOT of city commemoratives)

AND AN EDIT: One of the coins I picked out of the culls piles because I couldnt for the life of me guess what the reverse is. Ill put some dancing fruit here for the while and post about it later (im really excited!)

I've seen uncleaned coin lots on ebay and have a times been tempted but so far my ignorance has stopped me. It certainly looks like fun!

Looks like there are some interesting coins there. I see what looks like a Gallienus, a DIVO CLAUDIO and possibably a Tetricus I. You can was off some of the dirty with warm water and mild dish washing soap, it would help to see more detail. Make sure you dry them good though.

Austro - send me a PM. It is fun!

Everyone starts off ignorant. You have to learn firsthand. And thats why I got into buying uncleaned coins. Spread the hobby I say - theres many many more coins than collectors.

YOu can zip around this forum and look at all the cool stuff the romans minted too.

AND on the note of the lot - the priestly implements is Pietas Avgvsti - Tetricus II. My first of him and hes a pretty uncommon fellow.

I started buy ancients with the intention of cleaning them up a bit and them selling them to so that I can buy more US Bust Half Dollars. Once I strated cleaning them I realized that I didn't want to sell them any longer which lead to only collecting ancient now for the last eleven years.

Not getting much interest on CCF - ill be listing 5 lots on ebay on the weekend priced at £8.50 for 10 to try and move them and recoup my money. Really enjoyed looking through this lot - enough radiates to keep anyone satisfied. Difficult to leave the good stuff in though!

Ill be posting a thread in a bit with the ones I did filter out for my own collection.

I found a second Tetricus II Pietas Avgusti in the lot - what are the odds?! Good for me though, I get to keep one.

Chrs - PM me if you're interested. Keep ebay fees at bay (badum tsh). Its going to have to be £9.75 to keep the margin with all the fees (urgh).
