Hey guys, sorry for the noob question but I am in a bind. A person on a non coin related site has 2 ASE's up for sale. One is a 2003, One is an 89. Both are "NGC MS69" but no pictures yet..

I definitely have to see them first, but I want to jump on these before someone else comes along. I offered $65 shipped but he said he wants $36.50 for them each (he is going by ebay pricing and taking a few off)

Would $70 be too much to pay for 2 MS69's? I know they are more less than the 70's, I have no clue what kind of premium is normal right now.

Any help would be appreciated! I'm hoping on getting pictures soon!

That sounds reasonable to me. Spots 29 and most places will charge 3 or 4 bucks above spot so really youre only 3 or 4 dollars a coin for the grading fee

$73.00 for 2 NGC MS 69 Silver Eagles, no tax , no shipping ?

I'd pay that in a second.

Spot is $28 someone paid $12-$30 to slab them, a LCS or a show dealer wouldn't let these go for under $45.

It's not a great deal by any means but at $73 I would probably take them too.

I would take them. My LCS charges $10 over spot for graded silver eagles.

i wouldn't buy a graded ASE because grading standard bullion don't make much sense to be, but it's personal preference whether one graded bullion coin is worth 2 none graded ones.

I also see graded bullion as a contradiction in terms. I can see graded Morgan & Peace dollars, but I just don't see graded ASEs, CSMs, Philharmonics, Libertads, etc.

Graded bullion makes me think of that old TV show My Name Is Earl, when Earl's brother Randy was taking in his two favorite sideshow exhibits at the county fair---
The Worlds Tallest Dwarf and The Worlds Shortest Giant. But -- that's just my opinion, and as always -- "To each his own."

Anyhow -- On the question this thread is based on -- $36.50 each for a pair of ASEs is close enough to normal retail (which I think is $3 or more over spot) for a pair of
raw ASEs that I think that's a really OK deal. Grab 'em quick and feel good about a good decision!
