Can anybody identify this Chinese or Japanese ?

It's not a metal coin. Seems to be ceramic o something similar ( stone).

Diameter 23.6 mm - Weight 5 gr

On a side the picture is in high relief and looks like an animal (quadruped, elephant ?).

Thank you very much

Hi Maxfreddie,

I hope you will be not disappointed to hear this... but the porcelain token shown above is only a well known modern fantasy/replica token (tourist copy). By the way the token shows a gold fish... no elephant and the token is 100% fantasy issue. Additional info you can find at the following links.

Blog-article about Siamese porcelain tokens here:
http://dniewcollectors.blogspot.de/...-tokens.html

In the block you find other links to the continuing article parts. There you can see also your fake token.
The same tokens from the blog-spot articles can be seen here:

http://www.vivacoins.com/images/sia...n2/index.htm
http://www.vivacoins.com/images/sia...n3/index.htm

And here is the link to the online shop:

I hope you find these info links useful.

Best Regards
Chris
