This thread has been most helpful. I will probably look to upgrade to another New Orleans mint Half Dime in the future. Pickings are slim with the no mint, and they can get pricey so it will be a challenge, along with finding the right 1837.
I took a closer look at the coin today, and found something I think is pretty cool. There is a wicked die clash of the horizontal lines on Liberties shield on the reverse coming out of the H in half. It's so detailed it could have been struck on the reverse! I'm not up to speed on die clashing and Half Dimes, but with how thin these coins are, it is probably common. Still, it adds a cool feature to the coin.
