Hi everyone,

What do you think happened to this nickel? Does it still have value?

Pure nickel does not corrode easily, so it must have spent a long time in the ground, possibly a beach....

Hi,

I do not think the coin is a fake. This coin has been in the possession of my family for over 50 years. Therefore, if it had been counterfeitted, it would have had to be cast (so poorly) less than forty years after the1925 nickel.
Why would somebody go to all this trouble to produce a fake with so little value at the time?
What do you think?
