This coin and a few other Morgan and Peace dollars went left to me from my grandpa. They were his dad's and they sat up in a clock ever since my grandpa was alive. Although none are key dates, they are still very special coins to me. This is my favorite Morgan of the group. The toning is very pretty. It seems to have had some sort of tape or something on the back that left it discolored, but that just makes the coin more interesting. What are your thoughts on the grade of the coin? While I would also like to know the value, the coin is worth a lot more to me than what it's numismatic value would be.

I apologize that some photos have a little glare from the plastic holder.

Details are at least AU IMO. Perhaps you can photo it outside of the holder.

Really nice. My Grandma left me a Morgan dollar that was brand new when she received it on her birth. Her Uncle got a new 1896 and placed it in her cradle. It's still like brand new, just some beautiful toning. Gotta love the inherited coins.

It is hard for me to capture the luster that the coin has. the pictures make the coin look more of a flat color, but the coin is actually really shiny.

Yeah, I agree. Coins that you buy off of ebay just don't have the same meaning as the coins that were given to you be family. Hopefully someday I can pass on my collection to my family and they will appreciate them.

Pull them out to show the natural toning of each and photo. This will help grading as others pointed out. There are a number of people here who love natural toning. Then pass them on as a heirloom.

The last pictures show the coin out of the holder. All three sets of pictures are the same coin.

I would say all 3 coins are at least AU53 to 58. I'd give the two with the striped toning a bath in acetone, as that look was most likely caused by being in an album and held in with a piece of tape, is there any sticky residue on them? Very nice color, the acetone won't change the look, only remove harmful contaminants.

Okay thanks for the suggestion. All these picture are actually just one of the Morgans. They are all the same coin.

Family heirloom coins are priceless! Toning just adds to that...

It could be in the AU-55/58 area.
