Just a little Monday drool material for you all. I just picked up 62 Franklin and Liberty Halves for $5.50 a piece. The guy just wanted his collection going to a good place.

Go ahead, commence the jealousy

You'll have photos. I'm back at the office now. Let me see what I can do.

By the way, there's more to the story, including more silver and more error coins :) I just wanted to throw out a teaser.

I believe you. I really don't think people would lie about coins. I know some stories sound fake but yours was alright. Now you just have me drooling

If you're drooling already, how about this. I also bought 46 Washington Silver Quarters, 50 pre-64 Roosevelt dimes, 57 Mercury dimes, and 31 Buffalo nickels.

And then when I was about to pay him he throws in this box of Lincoln pennies with about 50 pennies it it. All it says on top is Mint Errors - Lincoln Cent. He let me have it for free because he couldnt remember what the errors were. Well, I've already found 23 1960-D Small Date pennies. Whoops

Did you at least point a finger @ him and say this is a stick up? Usually when I walk in on a deal like that - I am pulling lint out of my pockets instead of greenbacks... very nice score.

I didnt. I kind of feel bad, but I did not haggle him down that low. I asked him what he wanted if I bought them all and that's what he threw out there. So, I guess I don't feel that bad. Nope, not bad at all now.

His inheritances now gone to a good home. That's what matter most.
A transactions was completed when he agree to sell and you are willing to buy at his price. Nothing to feel bad about. He obvious know the value of the silver coins but didn't bother to get more (by researching their value & ask for more $$).

Nice purchase such as this is what keep us moving & attract new collectors.

Thanks for sharing.

Wow, I was wondering if the guy robbed someone and was trying to unload the loot. But if he's giving you coins for nothing, it's probably legit.

Nice haul!

wilhelm41, You never know,But the folders aren't damaged like they were in a hurry to move them.
If they're stolen he can just check the news paper. Should be listed this weekend about thefts and junk.

I live by a VERY bad area. Shooting and robbing's everyday. Just a week ago some guy tried to rob my dad with a gun. He had no clip in the gun though.
