Not sure if this is the proper place in the forum for this, but I know I have seen this kind of thread kicking around here before  Anyways, I was looking at wheats on ebay tonight and I see this one... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...:RTQ:US:1123I contacted the seller and asked if he had any pictures under natural light. He told me his camera didn't work and had a friend take it. He also said he had pictures of it on his phone but didn't know how to upload them. So being bored and feeling like something wasn't sitting right I searched for the image on google and found out it belongs to WingedLiberty1957's Coin Album on the PCGS website. http://www.pcgs.com/SetRegistry/Mem...27703&Page=9 on the top right. Its cert # is 25145833. After seeing this I emailed the seller again and was told the coin was not graded and is the one in the photo. Should I report it? Anyone know WingedLiberty1957 by any chance? |

Good eye LincolnGuy! Defintely scamming people with at least a bait and switch (selling a coin not pictured). I douobt his coin is actually a proof either. From his previous selling history he hasn't sold much in high end coins, less than a couple hundred dollars this year only. His listing almost never show the actual coins he is selling. Unethical and against the rules on ebay, I'd report him through the CCF link for fast results. ebay tends to take CCF requests pretty seriously and they act quickly too. Good eye, thanks for the heads up! It is important the community remains vigilant against these practices, ebay and no one else will do it for us. |

Todays ebay is a wasteland of the old Wild Wild West. At least in the old days there wa shonor. Now there is a 1 in 1,000 chancwe you will score a deal from a seller who is either honest or doesn't know what they have is worth. |
