All finish's: Business strikes, proofs/proof likes/ specimen, etc.
Cameo's are sort of like "the icing on the cake".(so to speak) Nice to have, adds to eye appeal, adds to coins value, but not a necessary trait when hunting for a specific date/decimal.

Thanks for all the information. I was looking over some of my PL sets.... And I see new things every time I look. I pulled out a 1969 set that had 4 non cameos and 2 with cameos, 1 heavier than the other.

Is it worth getting the cameos graded that I find?

For resale, definitely not - the market is saturated. For your own collection, sure... if you want to protect them.

Now it appears to me that it's the quality of the die.

How could you distinguish MS cameo from PL cameo?

It looks cameo for sure. Unsure of strike due to toning. Wait for an expert to chime in

I believe it's in the fields that you look at. Mirror fields is proof, dull is MS

Thanks. I think this was the same article posted on page 1 but it never hurts to review it again. Lol.
Why didn't they attribute the cameo designation onto the slab? Beautiful coin.

Do you think the reverse of my 1982 penny in this thread has cameo in it? Some of those coins posted here are gorgeous by the way! https://goccf.com/t/144470

PCGS is kind of funny with marking attributions on coins... I think you have to pay extra if you want them to mention Cameo... and not all submitters either know that, or are willing to pay...

Take care, and Have a Great Day!

In reference to the pic of the 25c PCGS PL65 just above.....

Would that coin have come from a complete Proof-like set from 56 and separated into it's own separate holder..? ..

....and is it worth the expense to do that to a set by breaking them up.
I'm thinking of my 1955 Arn set also showing here.
