I found this coin a long time ago, but I never really took the time to figure out what it was. I just recently did some searching on the internet and I didn't find one match for it. The front says "United States of America" and then the date "1938" it a small picture of an eagle on it also. The back is flat, with no imprint on it at all. Anyone know what kind of coin this is?
It is a Philliplne coin, which looks the the one side was sanded down. Here is a 1944 one centavo. Not in great shape but shows what the reverse should look like.
The Philippines were a US protectorate from the Spanish-American War(1898) until Philippine independence after WWII(July 4, 1946). The US had the task of making the majority of Philippine coinage and eventually Manila had a mint as well.
