Hi all, does anyone know of recommended resources (books, websites, etc..) to identify different British Indian Rupees? I'm going loopy trying to count berries and identify other odd marks. Thanks in advance!

Book-wise, http://www.spink.com/books-publicat...n.aspx?id=70 is still in print and seems pretty comprehensive. There's a wire-o bound version for £40 I think.

http://www.jfcampbell.us/india/ is a good site too.

I have about 20 various silver rupees from the Mughal period, including Indian Princely States, Independent Kingdoms, British and Portugese India, Presidencies etc.
Unfortuately, the collection is way too diverse to have a specialist book to cover each of these areas.
Krause, covering World coinage over the last four centuries, has to suffice.

The latest book on the series is a book by Randy Weir and Paul Stevens. You can find the book here. I have it and find it very useful.

Krause has lesser varieties and the prices are way out of sync with the market. Randy does a better job at pricing the coins while Paul builds on top of Pridmore's work.
