I just started my search for error coins 2 weeks ago. I am still learning alot, and I can't seem to find this type of "error" anywhere online. It's a 1994 P Washington quarter, it appears as if the reeds somehow got imprinted below Washington's ear. Has anyone seen this before? Any guesses on what it is? Thank you!

That is strange. I think it took a hit so PMD. Post Mint Damage

Almost looks like someone banged the edge of a Kennedy half on to it.
Does the imprint match a Kennedy or Washington quarter or is the reed spacing too wide
on your piece? I do think PMD is the most likely answer.

I tried to compare the ridges and they look a bit bigger than the ridges from the Washington quarter. It does look like a PMD, it had to have been hit with some force to make a partial imprint like that.
