I always prefer to get my books autographed, most personally to me. Though I know in the long run it makes it worth less (unless I get famous). I have a really big library, and probably around 20-30% of my coin books are autographed by the authors, including Redbooks, most of my big Q. David Bowers books, Highfill, Mallis & Van Allen, Mumey, Miller, Lange, Snow, Flynn, Akers, Kagin, Swiatek, Campbell, etc. I value the books as much as my coins!

And getting the autographs is always fun, some I've purchased but most I've done in person at coin shows, or conventions and the
ANA Summer Seminar. Always fun to meet the writer and pick their brain, most really appreciate you've read their book anyways and think highly enough of them to want them to sign it.
