Recently I decided to fill State Quarter albums with the coins I have collected from change.

I bought 2 albums, one for Denver and one for Philadelphia.

Right off the bat, I was able to fill 36 of the 56 spaces for the Denver album and only 4 from Philadelphia.

I am assuming that living in the Los Angeles area has something to do with this.

Do East-coasters experience this in reverse?

PS - the same phenomenon is happening with ATB Quarters. I have 4 from Denver and Zero from Philadelphia.

On the east coast we get mostly P coins. They eventually start to mix back and forth with people traveling ect but youre correct west coast will get mostly D and east coast mostly P especially at first

I have all the ATB Quarters 2010-2012 plus a roll and a half of extras, all P from circulation . In a year plus of collecting ATB's I have only found one D here in central Mass.

I'm in Denver so, obviously, my best examples of State Quarters, ATB and Sacs and Pres Dollars are Denver. 2013 pennies by the box here - Denver. I'm lucky to find a BU anything from Philly for all types of coin! MrMorgan, you've got a good deal! I wish I had someone out on the East Coast to trade me stuff. Roll for roll or something!

out my 230 ATB's I have found ,only about 30 some are P. but 20 some of those are chickasaw, so I'm having a tough time finding the "other" mints also. I am looking for people to swap with me.

I live in Louisiana in the middle and the mix is about even. We probably get a few more Denver than Philadelphia.

So make a request on the forum and find someone willing to do so. There are east coast collectors that have the same problem. It is just a matter of finding each other, a lot of collectors do it.

I'm from the east... only if you asked before I rolled up the 440 quarters. I really don't get much change anymore now.

UPDATE:

I had a friend who lives in Tampa Bay, FL send me 5 bank rolls of quarters.

I was able to get 33 P quarters for my album and 2 more for the D album. Roughly 1/3 were Eagle backs.

I have set free the remainder P quarters locally. Maybe some of these will find their way into a west coast collection.

We get almost exclusively "P" coins here in the Florida panhandle. But we have also gotten some new "D" dimes in 2009 and 2010 here for some reason.

I live in Missouri and get a good mix, a little heavy on the denver mint. But everything is circulated by the time it reaches me. :(
