the "D" always looked more diamond shaped to me on the interior on worn coins to me

Of course it could be a D that someome changed to an S. They could have needed the S in an Album.

I have many similar... There was no doubt in my mind that the picture shows an "S". Do you think that coin would get anything above scrap value?
