Below are two 1924 pennies that I picked up in a lot of 28 at a local coin store. The second one has a couple of apparent die breaks at 3 o'clock and at 9 o'clock. Gnome had mentioned that there is a less common variety of the '24.

G'day Hunter20ga,
it looks like you have the London Obverse coin which is the common version.

I have one from 1921 - has like a certain majority of shiny metal still clinging to it, there are patches of copper showing through...pity these aren't as rare as I wanted them to be! But nice coins, all the same..

There is a rarer variety in the 1921 1d, as well.
I was fortunate to pick up a 1921 1d the other day with the London Obverse.

I like the large penny. I wish Canada would have held out longer than 1920 before going to the small cent "as a matter of economy". I suspect it had more to do with falling in line with the US coinage dimensions.
