I think I have found an error in a 1983 penny. I am new to this so I'm still learning all the terminology. Can anyone help out?
The "E" is missing in "E-Pluribus" It seems that part of "United States" above it is warn, but the extruding dots in place of the "E" makes it seem as though it maymhave been an error, and not a warn "E". There is also a line of the same dots around the edge and some on the obverse.
Thanks for checking it out, is it worth keeping?
This will be my first error coin other than a 1979P Susan B Anthony wide rim.

Probably a struck through (grease) error. These are very common unless they cover a large portion of the coin, then they are collectable.

That area of the reverse sometimes has a weak strike from the open cavity of the obverse design being opposite. Less striking force. Could be grease. Common, not an error. The dots are more than likely plating blisters. Again, common.

From my experience searching cents, the 1983 year had a very large number of grease struck and weak strikes. Particularly in the area you are looking at on this coin.
