I think the 3 looks a bit off. Are you sure it's not a '45?

I think it is a 5 with some gunk or something on the five. At least when I enlarge it that's what I see. Shame.

I agree with all above comments.
It is definitely not the style of 3 seen in 1943.
The 3 should has a sharp end pointed downward, extended well beyond the number 4. This coin either is 1945 or 1948 with the left half of 8 erased by a metal tool.

Bummer dude.

I have a 20 bin tray thing that I use when I sort cents that I set up for using the Cherry Pickers Guide for all dates with doubled dies, 1992 CAM, WAM, RPM, etc and I went through it one day and found a worn 1980 with a doubled die liberty. I was all excited until I got out my Cherry Pickers Guide and found the one I had was worth maybe $2 after all of the sorting and magnifying.

That is why I only pull the 1974D Kennedy halves are they are the easiest to spot and the most common to find. I think the next few boxes of cent swill just be pulling copper and wheats.

Unfortunately, the shape of the 3 is all wrong anyway. On a genuine 1943 the lower arm of the 3 trails downward. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1943_steel_cent
