Got this 1909 today out of the common Indian cent box at my LCS. Actually pulled two 1909's, but this one looked a little off. I'm thinking it was in a bezel at some point, but would like to hear from some of the experts. The coin has a "railroad rim" effect and it is very very slightly smaller than a normal cent. I don't see any obvious markings that might have been made by a bezel. Any opinions?
i vote bezel (nearly all bezeled IHC's are from a short range of dates in the 1900's, including this year). You did say the coin was a little smaller? can you weigh it?
