Buffalo nickels have the mint-mark on one side, and the date on the other. If you have a 1909-S VDB, are you going to show the 1909-S or the VDB? I'm just wondering how you'd arrange these coins with unique features on both sides in albums that only show one side.

For Buffaloes, I'd put markless dates with the dates facing up, and marked dates with the marks facing up. And if I had any VDB cents, I'd put the VDB up, even if it interrupted the otherwise perfect flow of little Lincolns. How would you guys put these in?

I wouldn't put a 1909 S VDB in one of those press in albums. I do have a set of Jefferson nickels in one and do show the reverse for mint marks.

the press in type displays are referred to as folders.

Albums
have coin openings with clear slides to hold the coin, thus allowing you to view both sides.

Demonstrating a Dansco Album (I recommend using gloves to handle coins):

I have been rolling this idea around. My wife loves rings and she wants some sort of holder that would fit in a drawer. I think it would also work with coins.

Place the coins in the plastic holders and insert them into the foam holder. This is a easy DIY. Some foam, ( pipe insulation ) some sort of material to cover the foam. Anything from flannel, to felt to whatever soft and a hot glue gun and something to cut the materials.
